SHORASHIM (HYBRID)

We are pleased to invite you to join us at the 35th annual Shorashim - Roots of Israeli folk dance on Labor Day Weekend, which is being offered in a hybrid format with presentations in-person as well as virtually via Zoom hosted by the Israeli Dance Institute (IDI).

IDI once again will help bring about this hybrid Shorashim that will give so many the chance to dance the old classics we love so much.

We look forward to your being with us at Shorashim 2026 for another amazing experience of classic dances with our dynamic duo of master teachers -- Ruth Goodman and Danny Pollock.

Shorashim 2026 is dedicated to Yemenite dance and culture. We are most honored io have as our guest choreographer, Israel Yakovee, who is one of the leading creators of folk dances representing the Jews of Yemen.

As his debut at Shorashim, Israel brings us his unique "Teimaniada" celebration of Yemenite dance and culture.

We will also have a special remembrance tribute to Margalit Oved z"l, an internationally famous proponent of Yemenite dance (among her many artistic virtues) who left us earlier this year. Margalit will always be remembered by us for her classic Yemenite folk dance to Harishut.
